Mode Menu
You can choose between standard mode and extended mode for displaying the hardware configuration parameters and monitoring variables, as well as for generating the corresponding A2L entries. The standard mode shows a presentation of frequently used parameters in a short and convenient way. The extended mode shows a complete list of hardware configuration parameters, including the more rarely used hardware configuration parameters, as well as all monitoring variables, including those intended for cause analysis in case of problems. The extended mode enables you to modify all critical hardware configuration parameters which could damage the ECU or (X)ETK device when configured incorrectly.
In the Mode menu you can find the following menu items:
Standard Mode
Displays only frequently used hardware configuration parameters in the Hardware Settings Editor and monitoring variables in the Hardware Monitoring list.
When you switch back from the extended mode to the standard mode and some of the additional parameters have been modified, a message box is displayed. You can decide whether you really want to switch back to the standard mode. If you confirm this with Yes, all parameters that are only part of the extended mode will be reset to default values.
Extended Mode
Displays a complete list of configuration parameters in the Hardware Settings Editor and monitoring variables in the Hardware Monitoring list.

When you use the extended mode, it is particularly important that you make sure that the configuration contains reasonable and correct data before you download it to the (X)ETK device. Downloading a configuration containing hardware configuration parameters which are not suitable for the ECU may lead to unexpected behavior or could damage the ECU. |
