Hardware Device List
In the Hardware Device List, (X)ETK devices are listed with:
Device type
Type of the (X)ETK device
Alias name
Only if you assign an alias name
Serial number
Serial number of the (X)ETK device
IP address
Shows the IP address with which the (X)ETK device is found by the XETK Configuration Tool, followed by a colon and the port for the XCP communication (e.g. 192.168.40.16:1802). The port number can not be edited.
Host Name
Shows the host name of the (X)ETK device.
Host names are only supported for DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol; DHCP is used by networked devices to obtain from a DHCP server the parameters necessary for operation in a network environment. capable devices. For other devices, 'n/a' is displayed instead.
The width of the fields in the Hardware Device List can be modified by clicking and holding the field borders concerned. Reduce the width of a field, if e.g. the IP address field is hidden.
If there are conflicts between the (X)ETK devices in the network, the conflicting entries are displayed with the same background color. Information on the conflict is shown in the tooltip of the conflicting entry and in the application log window.
Such a conflict may occur if 2 (X)ETK devices with the same fixed IP address are found.
If the devices are located in a DHCP controlled network, the firmware of the second device will automatically set the device to DHCP mode so that the IP address can be reconfigured. As this reconfiguration only applies to the current session, you should edit the IP settings manually in order to solve the conflict permanently.
This also applies if DHCP is disabled. No (X)ETK access is possible unless you explicitly resolve the conflict by manually setting the IP addresses to different values.
