Search for Hardware

This function lists all connected (X)ETK devices. Devices are listed with (X)ETK device type, alias name, serial number and the IP address in the Hardware Device List. To search for hardware there is no need to have a project opened. To search for hardware:

  1. In the Hardware menu, click on Search for hardware. After a few seconds the connected (X)ETK devices are listed in the Hardware Device List.
  2. Mark the (X)ETK device you would like to work with. For this purpose you can activate the checkbox concerned or click on the entire row.

As a typical process, you can upload the configuration of the activated (X)ETK device 'as a new project'.

If (X)ETK devices with fixed IP addresses are used, it may happen that two or more (X)ETK devices with the same IP address are found upon searching for hardware, thus causing a conflict. In this case the conflicting entries are displayed with the same background color in the Hardware Device List.
If the devices are located in a DHCP controlled network, the firmware of the second device will automatically set the device to DHCP mode so that the IP address can be reconfigured. As this reconfiguration only applies to the current session, you should edit the IP settings manually in order to solve the conflict permanently.
This also applies if DHCP is disabled. No (X)ETK access is possible unless you explicitly resolve the conflict by manually setting the IP addresses to different values.
