Application Log Window

The system messages are displayed in this window. The Application Log Window provides feedback to executed commands. In the case where deviations from the expected behaviour occur, warnings or error messages are displayed.

Have a look at the Application Log Window to check whether a command was executed successfully or whether there were any errors. No additional pop up windows appear in the case of a not successfully executed command.

A system message is shown in three columns:

First column: Time

Shows the time stamp of message.

Second column: Type

Shows the type of the system message. The following types can be displayed:

These system messages are displayed only for information purpose.

Warnings are displayed, if the user should be made aware of project specific situations, e.g. if the user changes project specific data in a configuration.

Errors are displayed, if major errors occur in the configuration, e.g. incorrect communication with a linked device, the termination of a connection, etc.

Third column: Message

Shows the text of the system message.

Note

You can edit the application log like a common text field. Add new lines, text, comments, Copy & Paste, and delete.

You can delete all of the system messages by right-clicking in the Application Log Window and selecting Clear in the context menu.

The Application Log Window (and some other windows) offer a tool tip function: By moving the mouse cursor onto a system message (mouseover) the system message is displayed in an extra popup window. Thus long system messages can be read entirely.
