Append new Configuration

The use of the function Append new configuration (Ctrl + Shift + N) is to add a new configuration for a certain (X)ETK device type to an existing project. You can select the desired (X)ETK device type from a dialog showing all supported (X)ETK types. A new default configurationClosed A configuration is the virtual representation of all settings of an (X)ETK device. It is always assigned to one specific (X)ETK device type and always exists as part of a project. An (X)ETK configuration is valid, if it represents an (X)ETK device in that way that it works together with the ECU properly. is added to the project and displayed in a new tab. All configuration parameters are preset to reasonable values. To append a new configuration:

  1. Open a project alternatively via three ways:

    • Search for hardware -> Upload as new project
    • Open project from hard disc
    • Create new project
  2. In the File menu, click on Append new configuration.
    The dialog Append new configuration opens.
  3. In the dialog 'Append new configuration' select the (X)ETK device(s) you would like to append to the existing project.
  4. Click on the OK button.
    The tab(s) of the new configuration(s) are displayed in the Configuration Window.

If you have all offered (X)ETK types already appended to your project the dialog 'append new configuration' shows no entries. Click on the Cancel button to cancel the dialog.
