ES593-D Interface Module (ETK, CAN, Ethernet)
The ES593-D is the first ECU and bus access device with fast data logging capabilities for drive recorder applications. The ES593-D allows CAN Monitoring to start within 1 second after power on. The received data is captured in ES593-D until the connected Drive Recorder is up and ready to receive data.
Alternatively, the fully Ethernet-compatible compact device ES593-D can be used in combination with INCA as an ECU and bus interface module as usual: It supports all important functions for control device application via memory emulation with an ETK. Additionally, it enables connection to the control device via the CAN interface. This way, it can be used for all functions designed to operate the diagnostic services of a control unit, such as reading the error memory or programming control units using flash memory. It also supports recording and capturing communication data that is exchanged using CAN. The ES593-D automatically handles data exchange and relieves the PC from all time-critical protocol tasks.
ES400 and ES63x devices in Daisy Chain configuration that are connected to an ES593-D module are displayed under the Daisy Chain Modules system in the tree view of the Hardware Configuration Editor.
XETK devices that are connected to an ES593-D module are displayed under the Ethernet system in the tree view of the Hardware Configuration Editor.
System limits
The ES593-D has the following interfaces:
- Four CAN interfaces
- One ETK interface
INCA supports up to eight ES593-D modules simultaneously.
Regardless of which interfaces you use, you have to set global parameters for the ES593-D. These settings then apply to all integrated interfaces.
Module parameters
Enter any name for the system.
Shows the serial number read from the device.
If the hardware is not connected or if it was not found during the hardware search, enter the complete number by hand (it can be found on the device).
The serial number must be entered as it is needed by INCA to identify the device. The serial number is stored in the hardware configuration.
Enter an internal name of the device. It is stored in the device like the serial number and helps you to distinguish between devices of the same type. By assigning a unique name which expresses the role of the device, it can be used more conveniently than the serial number, especially when you link the devices in the Hardware Mapping dialog box. The alias name is used, for example, if you switch between different vehicles when measuring with the laptop or if you have installed different devices of the same type in the vehicle.
Shows the firmware version of the connected hardware module.
Shows the hardware connection between the hardware and the PC.
