Opening the Properties Editor

  1. In the Outline tab of a specification editor, highlight the element you want to edit.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • In the Edit menu, select Properties.
    • Right-click the element and select Properties from the context menu.
    • Double-click the basic element you want to edit.

    Or

  3. In the drawing area (BDE) or Graphics tab (project editor), right-click the element and select Properties from the context menu.

    Or

  4. In the Component Manager or the Browser view of the specification editor, go to the Elements tab and highlight the element you want to edit.
  5. Do one of the following:

    • Press <Return>.
    • Right-click the Elements tab and select Edit from the context menu.

    All cases:

    The Properties Editor window opens.

    When you work on a component created with ASCET V6.1 or earlier, and selected a variable with both the Virtual and Non-Volatile attributes set, a message window opens. It informs you that the variable uses forbidden attribute settings and asks you to change at least one of the attributes. You have to close this window before you can continue your work.
