Editing the Configuration of a Complex Element

  1. Open the properties editor for the complex element.
  2. Use the Name field to edit the element name.
  3. Type a comment into the Comment field.

    The comment is displayed when documentation is generated for the component.

  4. In the Kind combo box, assign the element kind.

    Note

    You can edit the element kind only for records and classes/modules in SWC.

    The following options are available: Variable, Message (only for records), Parameter (only for records), Interrunnable Variable (only for records in SWC).

  5. In the Scope field, determine the scope of the element.

  6. In the Attributes area, you can set the following attributes.

    Reference

    This option determines whether the element is a reference or not.

    The option is only available for variables.

    Virtual

    This option determines whether the element is virtual or not.

    The option is available for variables, messages and parameters of record type.

    Non-Volatile

    This option determines whether the element is written to the volatile or non-volatile memory of the ECU.

    The option is only editable for variables and messages of record type.

  7. Specify external and – if applicable – internal access.
  8. Specify calibration access.
  9. Click OK to close the properties editor.
