Editing the Configuration of a Characteristic Line/Map or Distribution

Open the properties editor for the element.
Use the Name field to edit the element name.
Enter a unit and a comment in the respective fields.
Each element can be assigned a unit. Unit and comment are for documentation purposes only, and do not influence the functionality of the element.
In the X and Y fields, edit the dimension of the characteristic line/map or distribution.
In the Interpolation combo box, select an interpolation method for a characteristic line/map.
By default, this combo box contains the selections Linear and Rounded. If you have added user-defined interpolation routines, these interpolation routines appear in the Interpolation combo box, too.
In the Kind combo box, assign the element kind.
Available kinds are Variable and Parameter.
In the Basic Type combo box, assign the element type.
The following types are available: Continuous, Signed Discrete, Unsigned Discrete.
In the Scope field, determine the scope of the element.

In the Attributes area, set the Closed following attributes for a local or exported element.

Reference	This option determines whether the element is a reference or not. This option is only available for variables.
Virtual	This option determines whether the element is virtual or not.
Dependent	This option determines whether a parameter is dependent or independent. The option is only available for parameters.
Non-Volatile	This option determines whether the element is written to the volatile or non-volatile memory of the ECU. Data stored in the non-volatile memory of the ECU will not be overwritten upon initialization. The option is only available for variables.
Variants	This option is unavailable for composite elements.
Redundant	The option is deactivated and read-only for characteristic lines/maps.
