Saving the Content of the Messages Tab

1. To save the entire content of the message tab in the default file, proceed as follows.

   1. Open the File menu and select Save.

      Or

   2. Press <Ctrl> + <s>.

   Note
   Unlike in the Monitor tab, an existing file of this name is simply overwritten without any warning.

   The content of the Messages tab is written to the CodeGeneration.log file in the ETAS\LogFiles\Ascet directory.

2. To save the entire content of the message tab in a user-defined file, proceed as follows.

   1. Open the File menu and select Save As.

      A file selection window opens.

   2. In the Save as type combo box, select the format of the log file.

      Available selections are:

      ASCII Log file (*.log)	plain text
      XML Log file (*.xml)	XML, includes – if applicable – ASCET links to the origins of the messages

   3. Select a path and a file name and click Save.

      The content of the Messages tab is written to the selected file.

3. To save the content of the message tab according to the selected filters, proceed as follows.

   1. Open the File menu and select Save Filtered As.

      A file selection window opens.

   2. In the Save as type combo box, select the format of the log file.

      Available selections are:

      ASCII Log file (*.log)	plain text
      XML Log file (*.xml)	XML, includes – if applicable – ASCET links to the origins of the messages

   3. Select a path and a file name and click Save.

      The content of the Messages tab is written to the selected file.
