Save Project to Hard Disc

You can save modified configurations to a configuration file on the hard disc or directly to the (X)ETK device. There are three ways for saving onto the hard disc. These functions are well known from the windows operating system:

Save project (Ctrl + S):

  1. On the File menu, click on Save Project.
    The configuration data of the projectClosed A project is a container for configurations. Projects offer the possibility to work with configurations. Projects allow you to use basic file management operations typical for MS Windows applications. are saved to the current project file.

If the project is created by an 'upload', the XETK Configuration Tool asks for a file name before saving.

 

Save Project As:

  1. On the File menu, click on Save Project As.
    The dialog 'Save Project As' opens.
  2. Determine the place for saving it on your file system. File name will also be used as project name.
  3. Click on the OK button.
    The configuration data of the project are saved to the newly created project file.
 

Save All (Ctrl + Shift + S):

  1. On the File menu, click on Save All.
    All currently opened project files are saved to hard disc.

Whenever you change any configuration setting, the XETK Configuration Tool displays an asterisk mark (*) after the configuration name in the tabulator environment. This symbol signals that the present configuration is different to the last saved configuration. When you store the configuration to hard disc or to a (X)ETK device, the asterisk mark disappears.

If at least one configuration in the project contains errors, a message box will be opened where you can decide whether the project shall be saved with these errors.
