Compare two Configurations

This function enables you to compare two loaded configurations. The configurations that you want to compare must be either of the same type or compatible. All the parameters and the concerning values of a configurationClosed A configuration is the virtual representation of all settings of an (X)ETK device. It is always assigned to one specific (X)ETK device type and always exists as part of a project. An (X)ETK configuration is valid, if it represents an (X)ETK device in that way that it works together with the ECU properly. are displayed in the Hardware settings tab in the Configuration Window. The (X)ETK Configuration Tool marks the differences between two configurations (hardware settings) with the colour red:

  1. Load two projects, each containing a configuration for the same (X)ETK device type into the Configuration Window.
  2. Select one of these configurations in the configuration window.
  3. Select the Hardware settings tab.
  4. Click into the Show differences drop down list. Therein there are at least two entries:

    • None: No comparison is made.
    • (X)ETK configuration name (consisting of the number of the configuration in the project, ':' and the (X)ETK device type): This is the name of the configuration to make the comparison against.
  5. In the Show differences drop down list select the configuration name you would like to make the comparison against.

marks hardware configuration parameters which have different values.
For these parameters an additional row is inserted which shows the current value in the configuration used to make the comparison.

If you compare configurations that are only compatible, but not of the same type, the hardware parameters of the active configuration are taken as basis for the comparison. If the configuration that you want to compare with the active configuration has more parameters, these are ignored in the comparison; if they do not exist in the configuration, the information "This parameter is not available!" is displayed for the corresponding parameter.
