Initializing a Daisy Chain
After having finished your hardware configuration in the Daisy Chain configuration program, you have to apply it to the physically connected hardware to make your parameter settings become valid. The parameter settings in the hardware remain valid also after powering the device down and re-powering it.
Note |
Applying the configuration is only possible if the arrangements in the editor and in the actual chain topology match, i.e. if they contain the same numbers and types of devices and the devices are assigned to a chain in the same order. To check whether the arrangements match, you can verify the daisy chain. If you need to adapt the arrangement in the Daisy Chain configuration program, you can do a search for hardware and map connected devices to those used in the editor. |
To transfer the configuration to the physically connected hardware and initialize the chain with the new settings:
- In the Topology list, select the chain whose configuration you would like to apply.
- Make sure that an IP address is set for that chain in the Daisy Chain configuration program; otherwise assign an IP address to the chain.
- In the Hardware menu, select Initialize chain.
The Daisy Chain configuration program searches for a physically connected daisy chain which has the same IP address and layout as the chain selected in the editor. Having found the hardware, the editor applies the parameter configuration to the hardware.
If the IP address has not yet been set at the hardware, the Daisy Chain configuration program looks for a chain with a matching layout and assigns the IP address in addition to the parameter settings.
