Vector VN1640

The Vector VN1640 supports the application via the CAN interface of an ECU as well as captures and records communication data on the network for CAN and LIN. Moreover, it provides integrated I/O interfaces. The VN1640 is connected to the computer via USB.

Note

The configuration of the LIN interface is possible only if the add-on INCA-LIN was also installed.

Depending upon usage (CAN or LIN), you require the appropriate connecting cable for the VN1640.

The operation of the VN1640 requires a computer driver which is provided with the hardware by the hardware manufacturer.

The operation of the VN1640 with ETAS software must be enabled by ETAS. Please contact your local sales representative to get the enabling key.

System limits

The basic VN1640 module itself does not provide any bus interfaces. However, it can be expanded with up to 4 additional interfaces (4 CAN, 4 LIN, or 2 CAN and 2 LIN interfaces).

INCA supports up to four VN1640 modules simultaneously.

Module parameters

Enter any name for the hardware module.

Shows the serial number read from the device.

If the hardware is not connected or if it was not found during the hardware search, enter the complete number by hand (it can be found on the device).

The serial number must be entered as it is needed by INCA to identify the device. The serial number is stored in the hardware configuration.

Shows the firmware version of the connected hardware module.
