Comparing Complete Datasets

To compare the contents of a dataset with one or more other datasets:

  1. Select the desired source dataset, see Selecting Source Dataset.

You can use an INCA dataset or a dataset file in one of the formats CVX (*.csv), DAMOS (*.dcm), CDF V2.0 (*.cdfx) or PaCo (*.xml).

  2. Select the destination dataset(s), see Selecting Destination Datasets.

You can use INCA datasets and/or dataset files in one of the formats CVX (*.csv), DAMOS (*.dcm), CDF V2.0 (*.cdfx) or PaCo (*.xml).

  3. Activate the destination datasets you want to compare. Deactivate the destination datasets you do not want to compare. See, Defining Active Destination Datasets.
  4. In the Actions menu, select Output format and the corresponding output format:

    • ASCII if you want to generate the output file in ASCII format (file extension .txt).
    • ETAS INCA PrintEngine V1 - PDF A4 if you want to generate the output file in PDF format (file extension .pdf).
    • HTML if you want to generate the output file in HTML format (file extension .htm).

    Note

If customer-specific print engines are integrated into INCA CDM, this list might contain additional output formats.

  5. In the Actions menu, select Select actions and then select Compare.
  6. Make sure that your settings are correct (user setting, path setting, size of output, file-format fine setting).
  7. In the Actions menu, select Compare all.

All variables of the source dataset are compared with the variables of the active destination datasets in accordance with your settings. The comparison result is written to the output file.

For further information, see Detail Information of Comparing Boolean Values.
