Selecting Variables
To select one or several variables from the list of variables and to add it/them to the respective measure and calibration window in the experiment:

In the application data manager, only functions are displayed in the Sources pane. |
Mouse operation
- Enable the Variables tab.
- Select one or several devices, functions, calculated signals or rasters from the Sources list by clicking on the corresponding devices with the left mouse button and holding the Ctrl key pressed.
- Select one or more variables from the Variables list.
For this purpose you can either left-click on the corresponding variable in the Variables pane or select from the context menu the Select command.

To select several variables, left-click on the corresponding variables.
The selected variable is marked with the
icon which means that it is added to the experiment after exiting the Variable Selection dialog.- Select the raster to which the variable is to be allocated. If you do not select a raster, the preselected raster will be used.
Click OK, to assign the variables you have selected to their default windows.

- In the context menu under Add, first select the layer and then the window to which the variables should be assigned.

If the required window does not exist on this layer, you have to first add the corresponding Adding Measure and Calibration Windows to which the variable(s) is/are to be added. |
Keyboard operation
- Enable the Variables tab.
Use the tab key to change to the pane Sources. Navigate with Up arrow / Down arrow and use the spacebar to select one or several devices, functions, calculated signals or rasters from the Sources list.
In the Variables pane all variables in the devices are listed.
- Use the tab key to change to the Variables pane.
- Use the up arrow / down arrow keys to browse to the desired variable.
Press the space bar to select a variable.
Note
Pressing the space bar again selects the next variable in the list.
The selected variables are marked with the
icon which means that they are added to the experiment after exiting the Variable Selection dialog.- Select the raster to which the variables are to be allocated. Use the left arrow / right arrow key to toggle between rasters. Press the space bar to select the marked raster. If you do not explicitly select a raster, the preselected raster will be used.
- Repeat steps 4 through 6 in order to select further variables.
Press Enter to assign the variables you have selected to their default windows (see Managing Elements).
