Creating a Task

  1. In the project editor, go to the "OS" tab.
  2. Do one of the following:

    • From the Task menu, select Add.

    • Right-click in the Tasks pane and select Add from the context menu.

    A new task is created.

  3. In the Tasks pane, type in a name for the new task and press <Enter>.

    Note

When using an ASCET‑SE target or the ES910 target, the name task is forbidden because "task" is a reserved keyword in the operating system.

Task names must not begin with a number. If you enter a name that begins with a number, an allowed name is suggested instead.

In addition to the name, each task is given a unique task number.

Once you have created the tasks required, you can assign processes to each task.
