Working on Tasks

The Tasks menu and the context menu in the Tasks pane offer several possibilities to work on tasks.

In the project editor, go to the "OS" tab.
To shift tasks in the Tasks pane, proceed as follows.
1. Select the tasks you want to shift.
2. Open the Tasks menu and select Move Up or Move Down.
  The tasks are shifted up or down the list. Their task numbers are not changed.
To renumber the shifted tasks, proceed as follows.
1. Open the Tasks menu and select Renumber Tasks.
2. Confirm the inquiry with Yes.
  The tasks are renumbered, beginning with 1, according to their positions in the Tasks pane.
To rename a task, proceed as follows.
1. Right-click a task and select Rename from the context menu.
2. Enter a new name for the task and press <Enter>.

  Task names must not begin with a number. If you enter a name that begins with a number, an allowed name is suggested instead.
  The task is renamed. The following message opens:
  The renamed task "<old task name>" may be used in an experiment as acquisition task. Do you want to look up for the task name to adjust it?

  Acquisition tasks are only required for online experiments. See the ASCET‑RP User Guide for details.
1. If you do not want to be asked each time you insert an element, activate the Don't show this message again option.
2. In the confirmation dialog, click Yes to continue.
  You can click No and continue without adjusting the task name in the experiments saved for your project. In that case, however, the acquisition tasks in the experiments may become invalid.
  If at least one experiment uses the renamed task as acquisition task, the Experiment Selection window opens. It lists all affected experiments.
3. Select one or more experiments and click OK.
4. The experiments are adjusted to the new task name.
To delete a task, proceed as follows.
1. Select the task you want to delete.
2. Open the Tasks menu and select Delete.
