Starting the Offline Experiment

  1. Open the experimentation environment for the component or project you want to experiment with.

  2. Adjust the measurement rate in the Measure Display Rate field.

If the rate is set to 1, the measure data display is updated after each calculation step. If the rate is set to a higher value n > 1, n calculation steps are performed before the measure data display is updated.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • In the Experiment menu, select Start Experiment.
    • Click the Start Offline Experiment button.

If you set the relevant options in the Experiment node of the ASCET options window, variables and parameters are initialized each time this command is called.

If your experiment uses a signal with MDF format higher than V2.0, Closedanother step is inserted.

    A warning message opens.

You are running a simulation using MDF data with version [Version String]. ASCET supports MDF V2.0 only. Not all signal attributes/features might be supported.

    • In the message window, do the following.

      1. If you want to apply your answer to all such cases, activate Don't show this hint again.
      2. Confirm the message with OK.

The experiment is started and all the values you have set up in the measurement system are displayed in their respective windows.

  4. Make any necessary adjustments in the data generator, event generator, measurement system or calibration system.
