ESDL Editor – Window Elements

The ESDL editor window contains the following window elements:

• Menu Bar

• Toolbars

  • General toolbar
  • Elements toolbar

• Tree Pane

  This pane lists all elements of the component.

  • Outline tab
  • Navigation tab
  • Database/Workspace tab
• Elements palette
• Library palette

• Specification view

  This view is used for component specification. It is selected via the Specification tab at the right-hand side of the editor window.

• Search Results View

• Browse view

  This view is used for component specification. It is opened via the Browse tab at the right-hand side of the editor window.

• External Editor View

  This view is used for component specification via an external editor. It is opened with the Activate External Editor button in the General toolbar.

• status bar

  The status bar displays information on the element currently selected in the Outline tab (if the Mouse Over option on the Editors node of the ASCET options is deactivated). If the Mouse Over option is activated, the status bar displays either information on the element in the Outline tab the mouse is currently placed on or - if the mouse is in the specification area - information on the element in the specification area the text cursor is placed in.
