Searching for References to Elements

  1. In the Component Manager, open the database or workspace you want to search.
  2. Do one of the following:

    • From the Edit menu, select Search.
    • Press <Ctrl> + <q>.

    The Search window opens.

  3. In the Enter a string field, enter the name of the element you are searching for.

    * activates a case-insensitive wildcard search. You can place one or more * anywhere in the search string.

    If you enter no wildcard, and no item matching the search string is found, the system automatically inserts wildcards at the beginning and end of the search string.

    The combo box of the field contains previous search terms, which you can select.

  4. In the "Select what you are looking for" combo box, select Users of References to Elements.
  5. Click Find to start the search.

    The elements matching the search string are displayed in the Browse Elements field, together with the name of the component they belong to. You can double-click an entry to highlight the component in the Component Manager and open it in the respective editor.

Search Criteria
