Searching for Declarations of Local Elements

In the Component Manager, open the database or workspace you want to search.

Do one of the following:

• From the Edit menu, select Search.
• Press <Ctrl> + <q>.

The Search window opens.

3. In the Enter a string field, enter the name of the local element you are searching for.

   * activates a case-insensitive wildcard search. You can place one or more * anywhere in the search string.

   If you enter no wildcard, and no item matching the search string is found, the system automatically inserts wildcards at the beginning and end of the search string.

   EXAMPLES

   wildcard position example search result example beginning of <search string> *time item names ending with <search string> GreenTime time end of <search string> air* item names beginning with <search string> air_nominal air inside <search string> c*nt item names beginning and ending with the specified explicit characters, and 0 – n arbitrary characters in between count cnt no wildcard cont item names identical to <search string> (if no matching items are found: item names containing <search string>) cont (continuous ADBufcont) more than one wildcard x*1* combined results of all wildcards x1 xin_10

   The combo box of the field contains previous search terms, which you can select.

4. In the Select what you are looking for combo box, select Declarations of method/process element.

5. Click Find to start the search.

   The elements matching the search string are displayed in the Browse Method Elements field, together with the name of the component they belong to. You can double-click an entry to highlight the component in the Component Manager and open it in the respective editor.
