Export of Folders and Database/Workspace Items
In ASCET, it is possible to exchange folders and database/workspace items between databases and workspaces. You can export entire folders, individual items, or any selection of items and folders. A distinction is made between exporting individual items (flat export), or the items together with all other items referenced by them (recursive export).
During export, the content of the field is exported for items. If comments on folders exist, comments on top-level folders are exported, but comments on subfolders are exported only under certain conditions. |
- With binary export, comments on subfolders are never exported or imported because subfolders are not part of the *.exp file.
- With AMD export, comments on subfolders are exported.
With AMD import, comments on folders are imported if the following conditions are met:
You import at least one *.main.amd file. Folders cannot be imported separately.
The folder does not exist in the database/workspace (to avoid that folder comments are changed if components are imported).
If a folder already exists in the database/workspace, its comment is not imported.
The folder is within the namespace of the imported component.
Comments cannot be imported separately.
