Component Manager – Window Elements
The Component Manager contains the following window elements:
Context Menus (Component Manager)
"Database" or "Workspace" list
The folders and items contained in the current database or workspace are displayed here. The database/workspace name is the root of the tree structure. Each database/workspace contains one or more folders, which in turn contain other folders and database/workspace items. They are organized and displayed in a hierarchy in the "Database" or "Workspace" list.
"Comment" field
This field is a text field that contains any notes or internal comments on the currently selected item. Typically, this field is used for developer comments and internal version details. This information is not included in the documentation generated automatically. It is not to be confused with the information entered via the notes editor.
You cannot add comments to folders. If you open an existing database/workspace with folder comments, these comments are kept. You an delete exiting comments, but they cannot be changed.
Note |
|---|
During export (see Export of Folders and Database/Workspace Items), the content of the "Comment" field is exported for items. If comments on folders exist, comments on top-level folders are exported, but comments on subfolders are exported only under certain conditions. |
"Contents" field
This field displays information about the selected folder or database/workspace item in various tabs. The information displayed in the "Contents" field varies depending on the selection (folder or item) and the type of item. Details are given in Views in the Component Manager.
status bar
The status bar contains several information, e.g., on filters, the current database/workspace, and the item currently selected in the "Database" or "Workspace" list.
