Converting Several Databases from ASCET-SD V4.2 or Later

You can convert several databases created with ASCET-SD V4.2 or later at the same time, provided these databases are stored in the same directory.

In the Component Manager, open the File menu and select Migrate Databases.
The ASCET Database Conversion window opens.
In the Source Directory field of that window, enter or select (via the button) the directory that contains the databases you want to convert.
The source directory is read; the databases are listed in the Available table. This may take some time, depending on number and size of the existing databases.
The SCM column contains a green icon () if a database is connected to an ASCET-SCM repository. The State column shows if the conversion is problematic ( – error; – warning). The Information column explains the reason for the error or warning. Read the Information column carefully before you continue.
Use the options in the first column of the Available table to select or deselect databases for conversion.
Note
You cannot start the conversion while a database with error state is selected.
To create copies of the databases and convert these copies, do the following:
1. Activate Save Converted Database to Another Location.
2. In the Target Directory field, enter or select (via the button) the directory that will contain contains the converted database copies.
To convert the databases in their original place, do the following:
1. Activate Convert Databases in Place.
  The Create Backups option becomes available.
2. Activate Create Backups if you want to create backup copies of the databases prior to conversion.
  Note
  If one of the selected databases is connected to an ASCET-SCM repository, you must activate Create Backups.
  The Backup Directory field becomes available.
3. In the Backup Directory field, enter or select (via the button) the directory that will contain contains the converted database copies.
Click Convert to start the conversion of the selected databases.
If at least one of the databases is connected to an ASCET-SCM repository, a warning message is issued. Read the warning carefully, then decide if you want to continue (OK) or cancel (Cancel) the conversion process.
During the conversion process, a progress window with a Cancel button is shown. If you click Cancel, the conversion process stops before the next database is converted.
Once all databases are converted, click Close to close the ASCET Database Conversion window.
