Creating a Software Component

AUTOSAR software components can be created as block diagram components or ESDL components.

  1. In the ASCET options window, Modeling node, activate the Enable Creation of AUTOSAR Components option.

    Without that option, you cannot create AUTOSAR components.

  2. In the "Database" or "Workspace" list, Component Manager, select a folder for the SWC.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • In the component manager, open the Insert menu, point to AUTOSAR and select Software Component Block Diagram.
    • In the component manager, open the Insert menu, point to AUTOSAR and select Software Component ESDL.

    The new software component is created with a default name and layout.

  4. Edit the name and press <Enter>.

Note

You can export software components specified in ESDL only in AMD format V6.4.2 and higher. An AMD format V6.4.1 or older will result in an export error.
