Define Rasters in the Raster Editor
In the raster Acquisition rate (measuring frequency) used for measuring one or more measurement variables editor, you can create, configure and
delete the rasters that will be used for measurements.
Moreover, the raster editor offers functions for enabling and disabling individual rasters as well as for correcting invalid entries and resolving conflicts between different entries.
For ETKs, the raster layout defined in the raster editor will be used for the creation of A2L definitions only; it will not be downloaded to or uploaded from a connected ETK device!
Adding and configuring a new raster
-
Right-click in the white space below the raster table of the raster overview in order to open the context menu, and select Add New Raster.
A new row with default settings is added for the new raster.
- Replace the given name by a more descriptive one.
-
Modify all settings as required.
Please note that the settings in the tabular raster overview determine which settings are displayed in the raster details on the right of the raster overview. Modify the settings in the raster details along with the settings in the raster overview.
If the project contains more than one configuration and you add a new raster, the raster is added to all configurations at the same time. By default, it is enabled in the currently selected configuration and disabled in the other configurations.
Deleting a raster
- In the tabular raster overview, select the row with the raster that you would like to delete.
-
To delete the raster,
press Del
or
right-click on the empty gray field in front of the row with the selected raster and select Delete Raster from the context menu.
If the project contains more than one configuration and you delete a raster, the raster is removed from all configurations at the same time.
Enabling and disabling rasters
Rasters are added, deleted and configured for all configurations of the same project simultaneously. It is not possible to assign different settings to the same raster for different configurations. If you would like to use different settings, you explicitly have to create different rasters and disable or enable them individually as required.
To differentiate between enabled and disabled rasters, disabled rasters are underlaid gray.
-
To disable a raster in a configuration, select the corresponding row in the tabular raster overview. Then right-click on the empty gray field in front of the row with the selected raster and select Disable from the context menu.
The row is underlaid gray in order to show that it is disabled.
-
To enable a raster in a configuration, select the corresponding row in the tabular raster overview. Then right-click on the empty gray field in front of the row with the selected raster and select Enable from the context menu.
The gray background is removed; the row is now displayed with a white background to show that it is enabled.
Correcting invalid entries and resolving conflicts
Editing the entries in the raster editor may lead to invalid settings or conflicts between certain settings. In this case the corresponding fields are underlaid in red.
As long as a row in an editor is preceded by the error symbol , it is neither possible to download the configuration to the (X)ETK device nor to generate the corresponding A2L entries. However, you can save the configuration.
As long as the error symbol is shown, the configuration cannot be downloaded
to the (X)ETK device. However, you can generate the corresponding A2L entries if there are no other errors. Saving the configuration is also possible.
Details on the concrete error are given in the Application Log Window.
In cases where there are different options for resolving a conflict, all affected fields are highlighted.
