Programming the ECU Flash

To program the contents of the ECU flash EPROM:

  1. In the Devices field, select the devices for which you want to perform the selected action.
  2. In the Action field, activate Flash programming.
  3. Check the Calibration access box.
  4. In the Apply to field, activate the corresponding setting:

    • Data to program the datasets
    • Code + Data to program the datasets and the code page

      Note

This setting has an influence on the data passed to the integrated ProF. If you select data only but then program by selecting Code + Data in ProF, a fill pattern will be programmed instead of the real code.

  5. Highlight the source in the From field:

    • Working page (+ Code page) to program the working dataset (and the code page if you have selected Code + Data)
    • Reference page (+ Code page) to program the reference dataset (and the code page if you have selected Code +Data)
    • File to use a HEX file (Intel HEX or Motorola S19 format) as the source of the datasets to be programmed (and the code page if you have selected Code + Data)
  6. In the To field, highlight ECU flash.
  7. If necessary, activate or deactivate the ECU group in the Device group active field.
  8. Check the settings from the visual display of the selected action:

The source is underlaid blue, the destination is underlaid orange.

  9. Click Do It.

The ProF Settings dialog box is displayed.

  10. Make your settings for the corresponding ProF configuration.
  11. Click OK.

The ECU flash EPROM is programmed. The programming progress is displayed in messages boxes.

  12. To determine the reinitialization behavior after a flash process is completed, select one of the options of the Confirm - Reinitialization Dialog Box dialog box.
