Cause: Trigger Counter Overflow of Buffer in ESxxx Device
If an error of the type "Trigger counter overflow" is displayed, an overflow of the buffer in the ESxxx device has occurred.
This error indicates that the ETAS system was not able to process the triggers of the ECU in realtime. A possible cause might be that the raster frequency in the ECU is too high.
Another possible cause might be that the overall load including fast and slower rasters is too high.
Evaluating the definitions in the project description file (*.a2l), INCA makes sure already upon variable selection that overloads will be avoided. However, if the definition in the A2L file does not correspond with the actual behavior of the ECU, i.e. the ECU provides triggers at a faster rate than given in the A2L file, this case may still occur.
