Vector VN891x
The VN891x is a base unit which is expanded with a plug-in module providing bus interfaces for CAN, LIN, or FlexRay. The VN891x is connected to the computer via USB or Ethernet.
It can be expanded with either a Vector VN8950 (CAN/LIN), a Vector VN8970 (CAN/LIN/FlexRay), or a Vector VN8972 (CAN/LIN/FlexRay). The VN8950 and VN897x are displayed in the Hardware Configuration Editor as separate sub-systems under the VN891x system.
Note |
The configuration of the plug-in's LIN and FlexRay interfaces is only possible if the corresponding add-ons INCA-LIN and/or INCA-FlexRay were also installed. The operation of the VN891x requires a computer driver which is provided with the hardware by the hardware manufacturer. The operation of the VN891x with ETAS software must be enabled by ETAS. Module Descriptions
The Vector VN8950 is a plug-in module which adds up to 4 CAN and/or LIN interfaces to the VN891x.
The VN8950 module provides up to 4 bus interfaces altogether:
- Up to 2 LIN interfaces
- Up to 4 CAN interfaces
The Vector VN8970 is a plug-in module which adds up to 8 CAN, LIN, and/or FlexRay interfaces to the VN891x.
The Vector VN8972 is a plug-in module which adds up to 8 CAN, LIN, and/or FlexRay interfaces to the VN891x.
System Limits
The CAN, LIN, and FlexRay interfaces are provided through the VN8950 or VN897x plug-in modules. The VN891x can be expanded with one of these plug-ins.
INCA supports up to four VN891x simultaneously.
Module Parameters
Enter any name for the hardware module.
Shows the serial number read from the device.
If the hardware is not connected or if it was not found during the hardware search, enter the complete number by hand (it can be found on the device).
The serial number must be entered as it is needed by INCA to identify the device. The serial number is stored in the hardware configuration.
Shows the firmware version of the connected hardware module.
Shows the hardware connection between the hardware and the PC.
