Moving, Renaming, and Removing Layers

To move a layer:

  1. Right-click on the Layers bar to open the context menu.

  2. Select Move Layer.

    The Experiment dialog box opens.

  3. Select the layer in front of which you want to place the layer you are moving.

  4. Click OK.

    or

  5. Click .

    The Variable Selection dialog opens on the Display Configuration tab.

  6. Select the layer to be moved.
  7. Drag and drop the layer to the desired position.

    or

  8. Click .

    The Variable Selection dialog opens on the Display Configuration tab.

  9. Select the layer which you want to move in the sequence.
  10. Right-click to open the context menu.
  11. Select Move Up or Move down.

    The layer is moved up or moved down by one position.

  12. Click OK.

To rename a layer:

  1. Right-click on the Layers bar to open the context menu.

  2. Select Rename Layer.

  3. Enter a new layer name.

  4. Click anywhere.

    or

  5. Click .

    The Variable Selection dialog opens on the Display Configuration tab.

  6. Select the layer to be renamed.
  7. Double-click.
  8. Enter a new layer name.
  9. Click anywhere in the Experiment pane.

    Note

    If the layer name is too long, the extra characters are replaced by three dots (...) in the middle of the layer name.

To delete a layer:

  1. Right-click on the Layers bar to open the context menu.

  2. Select Remove Layer.

    or

  3. Click .

    The Variable Selection dialog opens on the Display Configuration tab.

  4. Select the layer to be removed.
  5. Press Delete.

    A message appears warning you that all measure and calibration windows in this layer will also be deleted.

  6. Click OK.
