Displaying Process Points as Measure Variables

Note

You can make these settings only if you first set the option Enable Measurement of Calibrations in the User Options of the Database Manager.

Features related to process point display do not support multidimensional maps, that means maps with three or more inputs.

To display process points as measure variables:

  1. In the Variables menu, select Select.

The Variable Selection dialog box opens.

  2. Select one or more virtual devices from the Sources list.

The Variables window pane shows the process points as measure variables. The process points are named according to the calibration values to which they are assigned.

  3. Select a raster from the Raster Pre-selection field.

If you have first set Enable multiple rasters in the Database Manager, you can select more than one raster.

  4. Select process points from the  Variables window pane.

All selected variables are marked with the symbol.

  5. Click OK to assign the selected variables to their default windows.

    or

  6. In the context menu under Add to, first select the layer and then the window to which the variables should be assigned.

Note

The process points measured in INCA are approximate values and not always identical with the process points measured in the control device. This can be due to several causes. It is possible that the calculation of the process point in the control device and the measurement in INCA do not exactly coincide in time. Another reason may be that the values are available in discrete steps in the control device and in continuous values in INCA. Moreover it is possible that INCA uses linear interpolation to calculate the values whereas the control device uses another interpolation method, for example, square.
