Variable Name Display Setup Dialog Box
To open this dialog box, in the Experiment Environment select Variables > Variable Name Display Setup.
This dialog box contains the following fields and buttons:
Path name
If you select a device in the Hardware devices area, the path name of the selected device is displayed.
Show device name
Toggles display of the device name.
Filter
Selects a special filter for shortening variable names displayed in the experiment. You can choose between: no filter, character filter, and separator filter:
by characters
Specifies the variable name filter using character numbers.
Hide/Show characters | You can choose between showing and hiding the characters |
from left | Defines the number of characters to be shown or hidden at the beginning of the variable name. |
from right | Defines the number of characters to be shown or hidden at the end of the variable name. |
by separators
Specifies the variable name filter using separators.
Hide/Show from left/right | You can choose between showing and hiding the characters to the right or left of the separator. |
using separator | Defines a separator before/after which characters will be hidden. |
count | Defines how many characters are shown or hidden before or after a separator. |
Example
Shows an example of your setting.
If you use a combination of the two filters, the second filter is used on the result of the first filtering.
OK
Closes the dialog box. Changes to values are accepted.
Cancel
Closes the dialog box. Changes to values are discarded.
Reset
Resets the display settings to default settings.
