Setting Monitoring Limits

Note

You can make these settings only if the measurement values are displayed in the gauge.

To set monitoring limits of measure values in the standard measure window:

  1. Select a measurement channel.
  2. In the context menu, select Properties.

A dialog box for setting the display opens.

  3. Select the tab with the desired display type.
  4. In the LowerBound and UpperBound, enter the lower and upper monitoring bounds.
  5. Click OK.

If the monitoring limits are crossed, a red or blue rhombus appears in the measure channel and it is signaled by a different background color. A warning triangle next to the window title indicates that the Measure window contains a measure variable that crossed the upper or lower monitoring bounds.

If you select the Message when limit reached user option in the database manager, the measurement values that exceed the monitoring limits set are also displayed in a message box.

Note

You can also assign acoustic signals being played when limits get exceeded. This can be configured in the Windows Control Panel under Sounds and Audio Devices. For further information see the INCA Getting Started manual.
