Adding AUTOSAR Description Files to the Database

Adding multiple AUTOSAR description files works only with AUTOSAR extract versions.

To create a database object for AUTOSAR description files:

Under Database Objects, select the folder in which you want to create the AUTOSAR database object.
Right-click on the folder or on the Edit menu, select Add and then AUTOSAR.
A file selection dialog box opens.
Select the files.
Click Open.
The files are read and a new database object MultipleAutosarFileContainer is created in the selected folder.
In the 3 AUTOSAR description file info area the containing files are listed.

To add additional files to an existing database object:

Under Database Objects, right-click on the AUTOSAR description file folder and select Replace.
A file selection dialog box opens.
Select the already added file and the additional files.
Click Open.
The files are read and the new descriptions files are added to the selected folder.
In the 3 AUTOSAR description file info area the containing files are listed.

AUTOSAR offers a number of standard AUTOSAR files which can be referenced in another AUTOSAR file, e.g. for units AUTOSAR_MOD_AISpecification_Unit_Standard.arxml. Since INCA allows to read one AUTOSAR file with several AUTOSAR specification files, you can read the AUTOSAR Standard file and the AUTOSAR file that references to the AUTOSAR Standard file. INCA creates a MultipleAutosarFileContainer in the database which displays all supported clusters for more than one AUTOSAR file.
