Converting Mappings

To convert mappings of messages to NVData interface elements, proceed as follows.

  1. Open the SWC that contains the mappings to be converted.
  2. Open the Message Mapping view and go to the External Access tab.

Mappings of messages to NVData interface elements are marked as invalid ().

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Open the Mapping menu and select Convert to NV-Data Mapping.
    • Right-click in the Mapping field and select Convert to NV-Data Mapping from the context menu.

Mappings of messages to NVData interface elements are converted according to the Closedfollowing rules.

    • Only mappings of messages to NVData interface elements are converted.

      Other message mappings remain unchanged.

    • In the following cases, mappings cannot be converted:

      • The message is also mapped to an interrunnable variable in the Internal Access tab.
      • The message is also mapped to a SenderReceiver interface element.
      • The message is mapped to multiple NVData interface Rports.
      • The message is mapped to multiple NVData interface Pports.

        Note

You cannot create NVData interface Pports in ASCET, but you can import ARXML files that contain NVData interface Pports.

Mappings are converted. The results are listed in the ASCET monitor window.

  4. If some mappings could not be converted automatically, do the following:

    1. Remove the invalid mapping.
    2. Map the message to a suitable SenderReceiver interface element.

      Or

    3. Convert the mapping manually.

See Mapping Conversion Steps for further information.
