Replacing a Diagram Item (SWC Editor)
To replace an operator
Do one of the following:
- Use the Basic Blocks toolbar or palette to load the mouse cursor with a new diagram item.
- Drag an existing unconnected operator from the diagram.
Click an existing operator in the diagram to replace it with the new operator.
A confirmation window with additional information on replacing diagram items opens.
Activate the option Remember my Decision if you want to give the same answer to all questions of this type.
You can revoke this setting in the ASCET options window, Confirmation Dialogs node.
Click Yes to replace the operator.
If you click No, the new operator is placed on top of the existing one. The borders of both operators are displayed in the intersection color1 used to indicate overlapping diagram items.
To replace a scalar, composite or complex diagram element
Do one of the following:
- Use the Elements toolbar or palette to load the mouse cursor with a new diagram item.
- Drag an existing item from the Outline tab.
Click on an existing diagram item to replace it with the new item.
A confirmation window with additional information on replacing diagram items opens.
Activate the option Remember my Decision if you want to give the same answer to all questions of this type.
You can revoke this setting in the ASCET options window, Confirmation Dialogs node.
Click Yes, No, or Cancel.
If you click No, the new diagram item is placed on top of the existing one. The borders of both items are displayed in the intersection color2 used to indicate overlapping diagram items. The procedure is finished.
If you click Yes, the following happens:
- If the replaced occurrence is the only one in the diagram, the occurrence is replaced.
- If there are further occurrences of the replaced diagram item, you are asked if you want to replace the other occurrences, too.
Activate the option Remember my Decision if you want to give the same answer to all questions of this type.
You can revoke this setting in the ASCET options window, Confirmation Dialogs node.
Click Yes, No, or Cancel.
If you click Yes, all occurrences of the diagram item are replaced.
If you click No, only the first occurrence is replaced.
If you click Cancel, the procedure aborts and no occurrence is replaced.
Connections of the replaced occurrence are kept if possible.
