Importing from AMD/AXL Files
Each ASCET version (beginning with V5.2) can import AMD/AXL files from previous versions (beginning with V5.1.4). To import from a single AMD/AXL file, proceed as follows:
- In the Component Manager, open the target database or workspace for the import.
Start the import with one of the following actions.
- In the File menu, select Import.
- Click the Import (
or
) button. - Press <Ctrl> + <i>.
The Select Import File window opens.
In the "Select Import File" field, enter or select (via the
button) path and file name of the AMD/AXL file you want to import. Note
You can enter or select more than one file.
Click Options if you want to adjust the import options.
An additional Options field opens. It contains the same options as the Import node in the ASCET options window.
Set the import options.
To import encrypted AMD/AXL export files, you must provide the appropriate decryption key in the respective field.
Click OK to start the import.
The "Items available for import" window lists the content of the file(s).
Select all items to be imported and click OK.
The selected items are imported. If problems occur, the Messages tab of the ASCET monitor window lists problems in form of error, warning or information messages. If automatic solutions are available, they are applied. If no automatic solution is available, the import aborts.
Finally, the imported items are listed in the Imported Items window. When you click an item in the Imported Items window, it is highlighted in the Component Manager.
Note
When an AMD/AXL file with multiple code variants for the same key is imported, the code variants overwrite each other. Only the last code variant is kept.
