Activating/Deactivating Flexible Layout
To activate or deactivate flexible layout for existing components, proceed as follows:
- In the "Database" or "Workspace" list, select one or more components or folders.
In the context menu of the selected item(s)/folder(s), point to Flexible Class Layout and select the appropriate submenu option.

- for all components in the selected folder(s) and their subfolders
When you selected Activate or Deactivate, do the following.
The Change Flexible Class Layout State window lists the components that will be affected.
- Select the components whose flexible layout status you want to change.
- Click OK to perform the operation.
When you selected * recursive, do the following.
A message window informs you that the recursive operation may take a lot of time.
Activate Don't show this message again if you want to execute similar commands without inquiry.
You can revoke this setting in the ASCET options window, Confirmation Dialogs node.
Confirm the inquiry with OK.
The Change Flexible Class Layout State window lists the components that will be affected.
- Select the components whose flexible layout status you want to change.
- Click OK to perform the operation.
The flexible layout state of a component can be seen in the component's layout editor, Layout menu.
You can use the option Set Flexible Class Layout for new Components in the default block layout options to enable/disable flexible layout for newly created components.
