Searching the Tree Pane

You can search the tabs in the "Tree Pane" of a component editor.

Go to the tab you want to search.
The button next to the search input field indicates the currently selected search mode.
Simple Mode
Wildcard Mode
Type-Ahead Mode
To use the current search mode, do the following.
1. Enter a new search string, or select a previous one, in the search input field of the "Tree Pane" tab.
2. In Simple or Wildcard Mode, press <Enter> to search for the first matching element.
  In Type-Ahead Mode, each keystroke in the search input field performs the search.
3. Press <Enter> to search for the next matching element.
To select and use another search mode, do the following.
1. Click the // search button.
  The "Search in Tree" window opens.
2. In the "Search in Tree" window, "Search Mode" area, select the mode you want to use.
3. If desired, activate Start Search from Root Node.
4. Enter a new search string, or select a previous one, in the input field.
5. Click Search to find the next matching element.
6. When you have found the desired element, close the "Search in Tree" window.
If you are using Simple or Wildcard mode, the following can happen: If the tree is not wholly expanded, and no matching element is found in the expanded part, the "Expand Tree Pane for Search" window opens with the following message:
No such item found! Repeat the search with expanded tree?
Proceed as follows.
1. Activate the option Remember my Decision if you want to give the same answer to all questions of this type.
  In that case, the "Expand Tree Pane for Search" window no longer opens. You can revoke this setting in the ASCET options window, Confirmation Dialogs node.
2. Click Yes to repeat the search in the fully expanded tree.
