Sequence Editor

The Sequence Editor is used to edit and configure individual sequence calls, connectors and block-local sequence calls.

This editor contains the following elements:

• Sequence Number field

  This is where you can enter a number for the sequence call.

  By default, the number 1 is shown for new sequence calls, and the current number for sequence calls that have already been assigned.

• Next free

  Note
  Not available for connectors and block-local sequence calls.

  This is used to set the next free number in accordance with specific rules.

• Method/Process Name combo box

  Note
  Not available for connectors.

  This is where a normal sequence call is assigned to a process, method, or runnable entity. A block-local sequence call is assigned to its statement block.

  For new normal sequence calls, the process, method, or runnable entity selected in the Outline tab of the Block Diagram Editor is preselected. The assigned process, method, or runnable entity is displayed for assigned normal sequence calls.

• Sequence Shift Offset field

  This is where the offset value for shifting sequence calls is set.

  The value of the Sequence Shift Offset option from the ASCET option window is already set by default. If you change the value in the Sequence Editor, the value in the option window is adjusted accordingly.

• Sequence Step size field

  This is where the step size for the search for the next free number is set.

  The value of the Sequence Step Size option from the ASCET option window is already set by default. If you change the value in the Sequence Editor, the value in the option window is adjusted accordingly.

• Use Gaps option

  Irrelevant for connectors and block-local sequence calls.

  When this option is activated, gaps between exiting sequence numbers are included when using Next free.

  The value of the Use Gaps option is preset from the ASCET options window. If you change the setting of the Use Gaps option in the Sequence Editor, the setting is adjusted in the options window.
