Adding Sequence Calls to an Existing Sequence

It is possible to add normal or block-local sequence calls to a sequence which was defined earlier, i.e. to a number of sequence calls which have already been assigned to a process/method or statement block. In this case, the first of the newly assigned sequence calls receives a number which is one higher than the last one in the sequence defined earlier.

To assign normal sequence calls, do the following:

In the Outline tab, select the process/method to which the sequence calls shall be linked.
Sequence calls can be assigned automatically to one method or process at a time. If you select no, or more than one, method/process, the relevant menu options are deactivated.

Select all elements to which you want to assign sequence calls.

You should only select elements which are to be linked to the same process or method.

Note
If you select no elements, the sequence calls of the entire diagram will be assigned, if possible. Incomplete or incorrect assignments may occur, especially for diagrams with several methods and processes.

To assign block-local sequence calls, do the following:
1. Open the statement block whose sequence calls you want to assign.
2. Select all elements to which you want to assign block-local sequence calls.

  If you select no elements, the sequence calls of the entire statement block will be assigned. Incomplete or incorrect assignments may occur.
In the Tools menu, point to Sequence Calls, then point to Sequencing and select Appending.
The selected diagram part is analyzed, and the sequence calls are appended to the defined sequence for the selected process/method, in accordance with the integrated sequencing algorithm.

Note
If you select no elements, the sequence calls of the entire statement block will be assigned. Incomplete or incorrect assignments may occur.

The sequencing algorithm is subject to several restrictions, see Sequence Calls – Editing Several Sequence Calls. It is therefore necessary that you proofread the automatic sequence call assignments, and correct them where necessary.
