Updating Items (Advanced Mode)
Note |
|---|
By default, the Simple Mode user interface is used for updating. To update items in Advanced Mode (as described below), deactivate the Simple Mode user interface first. |
Proceed as follows to update items to a selected revision number:
- In the ASCET component manager, select the items you want to update.
In the SCM menu, select Update.
The Update dialog box opens. It lists the selected items.
- Use the
Remove and
Undo Remove buttons to refine your selection. To select a revision for a single item, do the following:
In the Update dialog box, right-click an item and select Change Revision from the context menu.
The Select Revision dialog box opens. It lists all item revisions available in the repository.
- Select the revision number you want to be loaded during update and click Ok.
To select a revision for multiple items, do the following:
- In the Update dialog box, select the desired items.
Right-click the selection and select Change Revision from the context menu.
The Revision for multiple selected items dialog box opens.
Enter a revision number and click Ok.
This revision is set for all selected items. If the selected revision does not exist for an item, the previously selected revision number is restored.
In the Update dialog box, click Update to start the procedure.
If an item you selected for updating has been changed in your current ASCET session, the Local Modifications Detected dialog box warns you that the update will undo these changes. Do one of the following:
- Click Yes to continue the update and discard the changes.
- Click No to cancel the entire update.
The items are updated, each to the selected revision.
Note |
|---|
If you select a folder, the Update command does not search for items in the same folder that exist in the repository but not yet in the ASCET database/workspace. To retrieve new items, use the Checkout command. |
