Creating a Configuration (Advanced Mode)

By default, the Simple Mode user interface is used for committing. To commit configurations in Advanced Mode (as described below), deactivate the Simple Mode user interface first. If you need to store a new revision of an existing configuration, use Commit Configuration (Advanced Mode).

If you need to store a new revision of an existing configuration, use Commit Configuration (Advanced Mode).

Proceed as follows to create a new configuration:

In the ASCET component manager, select the base item you want to add a new configuration to.
In the SCM menu, point to Configuration Management and select Add and Commit Configuration.
The first page of the Add and Commit Configuration dialog box (Advanced Mode) is displayed. It shows the base item and its referenced items.
In this dialog box, select just the base item in the reference structure you want to store as a configuration in the Subversion repository.
ASCET-SCM automatically reads all necessary information of all referenced items for storing this configuration.
Note
Do not select all referenced items for that operation (if you do, the system will store one configuration for each selected item).
Click Commit to continue.
The second page of the Add and Commit Configuration dialog box opens. It shows the item(s) you selected in the previous step.
Click Finish to commit and save the configuration to the Subversion repository.
