Move or Copy the Current Configuration to Another Project
The use of the function Move / Copy Configuration As is to move or copy the configuration that is currently opened in the XETK Configuration Tool to another project. As destination project, you can select either one of the open projects or a new project. Upon copying or moving the configuration, you can modify the device type to a compatible one if desired.
To move or copy the current configuration to another project:
- In the File menu, click on Move / Copy Configuration
As.
The dialog 'Move / Copy configuration As' opens. - In the Destination Device Type list, select the device type for the configuration in the destination project. You can select from all device types that are compatible with the device type in the current configuration.

In the Destination Project list, select the project you want to move or copy the current configuration to:

If you want to move or copy the configuration to an existing project, select a project from the list.
Only the projects that are currently open are listed; if you want to copy or move the configuration to another project that is not listed, you have to open it first.
You can copy a configuration only to projects that do not include a configuration of the same type as the configuration that you want to copy. - If you want to move or copy the configuration to a new project, select the entry <Create a new project>. The new project, containing only the copied or moved configuration, will be created when you confirm your settings in this dialog by clicking OK.

Determine whether the current configuration shall remain in the current project or shall be removed from the current project while moving it to the destination:
- If the configuration shall be part of both the current project and the destination project, tick the Create a copy checkbox.
- If the configuration shall be removed from the current project after moving it to the destination project, make sure that the checkbox is not ticked.

Determine which hardware settings shall be copied or moved to the destination project:
- If you want to copy or move only those hardware settings that are device specific, tick the checkbox Include device specific hardware settings only. In this case, default settings will be used for additional settings such as the desired autostart behavior.
- If you want to copy or move the complete set of hardware settings, including raster and memory layout settings, to the destination project, make sure that the checkbox is not ticked. Please note that this will overwrite the corresponding settings in the destination project!
- Click OK to confirm your settings and move or copy the current configuration to the selected destination project.
