About RTA-SQF¶
RTA‑SQF (Safety Qualification Framework) is a static analysis tool that automatically checks whether an RTA‑CAR project complies with the Assumptions of Use (AoU) defined in the RTA‑CAR Functional Safety Qualification Package (FSQP) and generates a results report.
The product is part of RTA-FSQP and supports customers in satisfying safety-related requirements which are requested by the ISO 26262:2018 standard and are documented in the Safety Manuals of RTA-CAR.
RTA-CAR Overview¶
Basics¶
RTA-SQF is implemented as a command-line application containing a set of tools and checkers which are implemented as individual commands.
The main use case for RTA‑SQF is as follows:
Customers use the ETAS RTA‑CAR product family (e.g., RTA‑BSW, RTA‑OS, RTA‑FBL) to develop safety‑critical ECU software.
During development, they run RTA‑SQF — either on developers’ PCs or in a CI/CD pipeline — to verify that their use of RTA‑CAR complies with the Assumptions of Use defined in the safety manuals for the RTA‑CAR product family (FSQP).
RTA‑SQF generates a report listing all AoUs checked and highlighting any potential violations.
Depending on the type of checks the user wants to perform, RTA-SQF may require different inputs:
Project ARXML files (e.g., for data specification, configuration, documentation)
Log files and output files produced by other tools in the RTA-CAR family
ECU Software source code (C source and header files)
At the end of the execution, the user will receive a Sarif result file that can be visualized with any Sarif viewer (e.g., the Visual Studio Code Sarif Viewer extension) and, if required, an HTML report that provides a user-friendly summary of the analysis results. The user can also review the internal log file for more detailed information about the execution and any potential issues that may have occurred during the analysis.
