Video
In the Video instrument, the video signals VIDEO_TIMECODE or VIDEO_CAMERA_TIMECODE contain only a series of time stamps. The device name of the video signal is used as link to the actual video file on the hard disk named <measurefile>_<device_name>.mp4.

The video file names must not be renamed as they are referenced by the corresponding MDF file (*.mf4). |
The time stamps in the video signals VIDEO_TIMECODE or VIDEO_CAMERA_TIMECODE are used for synchronization.
You can perform the following actions:

- To display a video signal
- To scroll and synchronize
- To adjust the play speed
To define the Video properties
The complete set of configuration possibilities for this instrument is available in the Properties docking window. There, the tooltips provide a detailed description of the properties and their possible options.

Do one of the following:

In the instrument, click

Select the instrument and press Alt+Enter.

In the instrument, right-click and select Properties in the context menu.

In the Variable Explorer, select the video signal VIDEO_TIMECODE or VIDEO_CAMERA_TIMECODE from the corresponding device which refers to the camera name.

Drag the video signal onto a layer or layer tab of the configuration and select the Video instrument.
If a signal is already assigned, the new video signal replaces the old one. It is not possible to assign multiple signals. For more information, see Assigning Signals to Instruments.

To start the video, click Play and to stop it, click Pause.
To quickly navigate to a specific time stamp in the video, or to synchronize the Video instrument with other instruments, see Time Navigation and Synchronization.
To adjust the play speed of the recording, it is possible to either slower or fasten the speed of the recording by specifying for example, 0.5x, 1.0x, 1.5x, 2x or 5x.
