Requesting, Installing, and Uninstalling Machine-Based License of Type FlexNet Publisher (FNP)
To request a machine-based license
To get the required MAC address and request a machine-based license file directly from ETAS, do the following:

In the Tools menu, select Obtain License Info.
The MAC and IP addresses for each network adapter on your PC are shown.

Select one of the listed Ethernet adapters and click Get License Info.
The information about your PC that is required by ETAS to create a license file is collected and displayed.

Follow the dialog to save the information in a text file.
The file is created and opened in a text editor.
- Click ETAS Licensing Portal to access the ETAS License and Download Portal.
- Click Activation & Entitlements > List Entitlements.
- Check the row with your product license.
- In the Action menu, click Activate.
- In the Configure Hosts area, enter the required data from the saved text file.

In the License Summary area, click on the View menu and select Save to File.

The downloaded license file contains the license key for your PC.
To install a machine-based license

In the File menu, select Add License File.

Click the ... button.

Select the LIC file and click Open.
Note
The license version and the product version are not identical. Example: according to the license model, the license version 7.2 can be valid for the product versions 7.0 and 7.1. For details see your license contract.

Click OK.

The status changes into Installed. The license file is copied into the license path used by the ETAS License and Download Portal.
In the Tools menu, you can choose Display license path to display the information again.
To uninstall a machine-based license
- Make sure that the ETAS software whose license you would like to uninstall is not running and that the license is not borrowed.

In the File menu, select Remove License File.
The License Selection window opens.

Select the license file that you want to uninstall.

Click OK.

The status changes into Not available.
The license file is physically deleted from your PC.
Note
You cannot use the corresponding ETAS software without a license. If you would like to use the software again, you need to reinstall the license file.
