Searching for Hardware
To search for connected hardware:
In the Hardware menu, select
Search for hardware.A dialog box for interface selection opens.
- Tick all interfaces that shall be considered during the next search for hardware.
- To save your settings for the next search, mark the Skip host interface selection on next search check box. The interface selection dialog box is not displayed at the next search.
Click OK.
An indication message is displayed during the search.
When the search is completed, the Search for connected devices dialog box opens.
- In the Available HW devices list, select the devices with which you want to work in the current workspace.
- If you want to display the interface selection dialog box for the next search, disable the Skip host interface selection on next search check box.
Click OK.
The devices are added to the list.
For control devices, you have to specify a project and a working dataset. For these devices, the Select project and working data for device dialog box opens automatically.
- Mark a project in the Projects list.
In the Datasets list, you can mark a working dataset (
icon). This working
dataset is then used for the control device.If you select a write-protected master or reference dataset (with the
or
icon), a copy of this dataset with
an incremented name is automatically created and used as the working dataset.
Click OK.
The project and the working dataset are then set accordingly for the control device.
