FlexRay Monitoring

The FlexRay interface is used for capturing and recording communication data that are exchanged in a FlexRay network.

The signals on the FlexRay network are displayed and recorded simultaneously with the other data captured in INCA.

For measuring signals on a FlexRay network, the description of the FlexRay communication is necessary. The FIBEX description format is supported (*.xml).

FIBEX description format

To receive information about the messages and signals used in the FlexRay environment, a description file is used.

For the FIBEX description format, the database manager has a special reader. The reader reads the FIBEX format into the INCA database.

In INCA, FlexRay data is supported at the signal value level. The FIBEX format contains symbolic information about the sender, messages and signal values with physical conversion. Additionally, FIBEX contains all necessary low-level parameters for configuring the FlexRay interface.

Therefore only the cluster and the controller to be used for configuring the FlexRay interface have to be selected from the FIBEX file.

It is not possible to generate a FIBEX file with INCA.

FIBEX versions V1.1.5a, V1.2.0a, V2.0.0, and V2.0.1 are currently supported.
